Description
"Hotly staged bike chases" (Variety), state-of-the-art weaponry and "excellent explosions" (Hollywood Drama-Logue) form a deadly combination in this "lively" (Los Angeles Times) action film about a couple of modern-day, motorcycle-ridin' Robin Hoods. Starring Mickey Rourke (Get Carter), Don Johnson (Tin Cup) and Vanessa L. Williams (Shaft), Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man contains thrills and excitement that never let upwith surprise twists at every turn! In the lawless world of the future, drifters Harley Davidson (Rourke) and The Marlboro Man (Johnson) help an old friend save his bar by robbing the very bank trying to takeover his property. But this is no ordinary bank and the armored car they roll is filled not with moneybut drugs! Now Harley and Marlboro become the objects of a ruthless manhunt by the corrupt bank chief's deadly and unstoppable henchmen.
Sheathing itself in bad taste, this film flaunts its tackiness, its machismo, and its very stupidity, which of course makes for a lot of dopey fun. Harley Davidson (Mickey Rourke) returns to his roots, the LA of 1996 (the film was set in the near future, as it was made in 1991). Burbank has become an airport, a new drug called Crystal Dream is all the rage, and Harley's favorite bar is being torn down. To save it, he and the Marlboro Man (Don Johnson, at his most engaging) concoct an armed robbery that goes awry. Instead of cash, they end up with a shipment of Crystal Dream. Hunted by a drug dealer's goons, the two bark, fight, drink, and squint at each other as they try to get themselves out of their mess. This is Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid for the monster-truck crowd, with plenty of breasts, choppers, broken pool cues, and empty bottles. It's impossible to blame this film for being so emphatically trashy; its creators would consider that a compliment, anyway. --Keith Simanton

Summary: "Great movie for this type of film"
This movie doesn't pretend to be anything more than what it is. It isn't trying for an Oscar, for critical acclaim, or to make some moral point. This movie is a pure guy movie made to enjoy, and it does that well. If you aren't looking for that, then don't watch this movie. However, if you are looking for this, then you need look no further.

Summary: "Don Johnson ditches the Glen Ghoulia look for a coboy hat and an unstable Mickey Rourke"
Throughout the years the bothers Sid have come to expect something very crucial from late Saturday nights. That something is hilarious B action that could never be shown during normal daily hours. It's that special time between 11:30 and 3:30 am that the wold of B seems to come alive for all the drunks, stoners, and insomniacs alike. This Saturday evening gave us yet another gem in a well known B classic called Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man. After being blown away by Mick's sublime performance in Point Blank we just knew the addition of Don Johnson could only shift things into another dimension of hilarity.
The premise of this delightful flick surrounds itself around rough and tumble chums Harley Davidson (Rourke) and The Marlboro Man (Johnson). Despite having no jobs or apparent lives their biggest blow comes when they hear their favorite bar is being taken away by a corrupt bank. As any normal alcoholic duo would do, they decided to rob the very bank attempting to muscle the bar out. Only issue is they get nabbed and hunted down the the bank's gang led by Daniel Baldwin who was still a fat Irish p*ick back in 1991. As they're hunted down like Zap Rowsdower and Troy they must use their epic brawling powers to reclaim their lives and favorite watering hole.
As if you couldn't tell by now the brothers Sid couldn't have been happier with what this late night action had to offer. For years the memory of Don Johnson had been burned into memory as the 80's machine who sports white blazers with the sleeves rolled up while a hot pink T glistens from underneath. However he now has reclaimed himself as a rugged cowboy that takes no stuff off no one. Nothing like a guy that walks into a mud trap to retrieve a poorly hit golf ball to only sink knee deep and then cry at lunch after wards. No way, not Johnson. His response to that would be a swift kick to the chest while rourke finishes him with a neck snap. Yeah...awesome

Summary: "Typical late 80's early 90's action flick"
Standard Hollywood buddy movie, the plot is "Borrowed" from Butch and Sundance - With Hollywood and lose remakes, The more far-fetched the better, not too many movies of the era stretch as far as this one does.
Don't get me wrong it is a fun movie. Completely overboard action sequences, cheese and camp humor galore. It pays homage to every western and/or action flick ever made.
The plot -- Two biking buddies team up to help an old friend save his nightclub from a banker who wants to tear down thier beloved bar and build a high-rise.
After a botched robbery of the banker money / which turns out to be drugs the two friends are repeatedly confronted and hounded by the banker's henchmen.
The numerous confrontations result in explosions, fights, and gunfire.
